What is handpoke?
Firstly handpoke are permanent tattoos. They are done by hand and unaided by a tattoo machine. This means the process is slower as each dot is hand pushed into the skin. But it does also mean that it hurts less, is less invasive to the skin and can be a quicker healing time.
All skin heals differently so please follow the aftercare guidelines to get the best healed result.
What is the price guide?
Pricing is based on design and placement. ‘Flash designs’ - repeatable design that can be chosen from a chart, starts from £120
‘Custom designs’ - a unique design just for you starts from £200. My minimum charge is £120. Discounts are offered for multiple design bookings.
Tips are also most welcomed but not necessary.
What if I need a touch up?
Due to the way the ink is applied to the skin, occasional touch up to thin lines may be required. Touch ups are free. Please email a picture of your healed tattoo and I will advise if a touch is necessary. Please leave at least 6 weeks before contacting.
Do I need to do anything before the appointment?
Have a snack. Be well rested. Please do not come to your appointment if you are unwell, intoxicated or experiencing and Covid-19 symptoms.
Do you take walk-ins?
All appointments take place at my private studio and are by appointment only. Walk-ins are not accepted at this time. You can bring a friend with you but this needs to be agreed in advance.
I work Tuesday - Friday 10-5
Any areas you won't tattoo?
Feet, face, skull, intimate areas. I will however tattoo ears and breasts.
How long does it take?
For a small design like a small starburst, short work, or single line design it takes around 30 mins. Larger designs like detailed flowers and custom designs can take up to 3-4 hours.
For more elaborate designs these can be booked in as Full Day sessions.
Does it hurt?
Handpoke are machine free tattoos and therefore less invasive. Because of this method it is often felt that they are less painful than machine tattoos.
Pain is subjective and each person responds differently but I do my best to make you comfortable, create a relaxing environment and all clients are offered either a CBD gummie on arrival.
Some people compare the sensation of acupuncture.
Do you do cover-ups?
I will consider cover- ups and if it is something I feel will work with my style and enhance the piece I am happy to discuss.
This also applies to scar tissue. If I feel confident with the area and the skin, I am happy to tattoo scars.
In some cases a pre-tattoo consultation appointment will be arranged.
